Animal Abuse Speech

 Did you know New Zealand has become the latest country to ban animal testing of cosmetics. The announcement was made in March this year and is a good decision for animals. It is an important decision because most people do not know what goes on behind the scenes with animal abuse. In my speech I am going to tell you about animal abuse, animals being used to test products,  animals that are kept for entertainment and those killed for their fur for fashion. 

Animals are used for testing products. This should be illegal. When animals are tested some animals get affected by starving and not living in a good condition. Some people wear fur which is made by real animals and some clothes are made from fake fur. When people wear fur from real animals, this is not good because the animal may become extinct or there will be less numbers. Each year,more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S labs for biology lessons. They test on animals for chemical,  drugs, foods and cosmetic testing.

Another form of animal abuse is when some animals are being used for circus entertainment.The elephants are trained to do tricks for the audience.The monkeys and the bears are entertaining the audience as well. They get locked up in a cage which isn't their normal habitat, their normal habitat is green places with trees, fresh air and fresh lake of  water. 

Animal protection laws are not good in some countries. In Eastern Europe Belarus tops the list as the worst performer due to its large volumes of farm animal consumption (mainly chicken) and lack of animal protection laws. For example, in Belarus they farm chickens for food and they give it to other factories to produce meat. The United States of America comes in second worst.

In my opinion I think animal abuse is wrong because it causes too

much suffering on the poor animals. Why should animals have to suffer

so we can have safe cosmetics, nice clothes and a nice handbag. I know some

people kill animals for warmth and food but that is a need to stay alive, 

animals need to stay alive too. How about people eating more vegetables and

less meat and there will be less animals being killed and we will have a better

environment.
